I’m gonna be really honest with you and say that I never heard of Macau before the planning of this trip. Apparently it’s a playground for gamblers and shoppers. I have to say it’s image doesn’t lie. Today we arrived in Macau and we went to this hotel called the Venetian. I’ve never seen anything like it. For one it was huge and it had a mall inside the hotel. And I don’t mean a small one, there was solid mall with all the nice stores you can imagine and it was so big that we got lost (they have to work on their navigating signs tho) And then let’s talk about the theme of the hotel called ‘The Venetian’, cause it’s Venice and these people ain’t joking around. They actually made the place look like Venice! They created a Venice fantasy and they thought of everything even the gondolas! They painted clouds on the ceilings so it would feel like you’re outside, it was crazy. And then… the casino. I have never in my life seen a casino this big and so packed, it was unbelieveble. Mind you, this casino was still inside the hotel. There where so many people playing with money, the place was so busy. I saw people throwing in 300.000 and 1.700.000 dollars like it was Monopoly money. Honestly tho, as a working student, seeing people literally playing with their millions willing to loose it all, like the tooth fairy was going to recharge their bankaccounts, was hard. I mean if you have millions to spare, just donate to the Jody Foundation…. They’ll know what to do with your lonely millions.
Mood: I can’t believe I saw a man lose over 1 million dollars today, it was so sad even for me.
